They are located right downtown, and was about a 10 minute walk from our Air BnB condo which was pretty nice. It also happened to be close by to the Anju Restaurant that we went to.
Inside, it looked really cute! It had a wall of magazines, the menus were very easy to read. There was a projector located inside for viewing movies (during the evenings, or during events), and a bunch of games scattered throughout the seating area. There were benches outside if you wanted to enjoy the weather, and there were high top tables inside with various tables perfect for groups.
The washrooms were cute as well! I had to mention it..haha. And the set up was pretty modern/minimalistic.
For ordering, you go up to the restaurant front and order your meal there. This is different from being seated and waiting to be asked what you would like to order. Also, you pay first and then they give you your food.
We went around 11 AM, and it wasn’t busy at all, plus it was during a weekday. You are able to reserve a table with their ‘Open Table’ service that’s online. The food was prepared pretty quick, and the kitchen area was open so you can also see them prepare your food.
We ordered: Waffles Benedict (Two poached eggs, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, aged cheddar, hollandaise, and arugula) x Buttermilk Breakfast (Buttermilk waffles with maple syrup and butter, featured sausage, fresh fruit and a cup of coffee). The photos and the restaurant itself is shown on my Instagram post.
The waffles were really good, they even had their homemade recipe batched up for sale at the location! The food was really simple, but definitely filling. It’s a really good place if you want something quick and fancy looking haha.
The portion size is pretty decent as well, and the food was inexpensive. I really liked how the menu items were very descriptive of what the contents of the meal would be. It definitely helped when I was ordering. Some places don’t put much of a description on their meal items, which sometimes makes it hard when people are trying to order.
Overall, I found that this place was a definite go-to brunch place of ours when we were in Calgary!
