Here’s another review on an casual dining experience in Calgary. My sister and I went to various food places, often being asian eateries. This is one of them. Read my review down below for my opinion 🙂
If you’re new to my blog, welcome! The basis of my reviews rely on 3 factors: Scenery, service, and of course the food. I also include the location and or promotions that are mentioned, as well as their website for their menu items.
For any restauranteurs or businesses who would like me to review their location, feel free to send me an email/comment below! Email is found in the bottom of my blog.
Now, on to the review…

The location of the area was unfortunately in a rather sketch area? We wanted to go to a food place that was near where we were shopping at. We had just left to look around at the nearby Nordstrom Rack, and was hungry, but…was not opting for any of the fast food joints there. Han Korea popped up on the review site, which is located above this paragraph.
The surroundings is near a bunch of industrial buildings, but the overall atmosphere reminded me of a rough end type of neighbourhood. Inside however, looked like it was more of a home environment. Kind of like the type of vibes you’d get from visiting your grandparents or something. The panels surrounding the place had a bunch of cute figurines. The tables were clean, but had more older furniture inside.
There was only one person who acted as the host and server, she was really quick to greet us and take our order. We went around 9:00 PM, so it was not crowded there at all. In fact, there was only two groups eating when we arrived.
Even though the scenery and location of the area was sketch to me, the food was pretty good! Then again, we did go to this area because of the food. The review website had a bunch of appetizing pictures of the menu items.
The menu by the way was a bit hard to understand. Yes, I know it is a Korean restaurant…but it was not as descriptive when it came to what you were exactly ordering. Plus, the pictures didn’t give you must of a judgement as to what you’d really be expecting haha. I remember that when the food came out, it was nothing to what we thought we had ordered.
Don’t get me wrong though, the food tasted absolutely great! You get unlimited rice, which was purple by the way. I liked the colour, and I wonder what type of rice it was, because it tasted different from regular rice. Also, unlimited water, which you get yourself, along with the rice. And if that wasn’t enough, you also get extra condiments to add to your main dish as well!
We ordered the Korean sausage, it also had intestines as well included in a red pepper sort of sauce. My sister loved the rice cakes that were in the dish. The clear noodles were also a nice added texture to the meal. As for condiments, it ranged from kimchi, pickled okra, omelet, fresh lettuce, seafood, and dried fish.
The pricing was a bit high, but it ended up alright in the end because of the portion you receive. We paid about $40.00, and it was a lot of food. Plus I liked the self serve rice there haha.
