Sun Fortune Restaurant

Here’s another quick review on a recent new restaurant find! My friends and I decided to check out the restaurant ‘Sun Fortune’ on Pembina, both of them have already went to this place; me on the other hand, have not ahaha.

Scenery:

It’s a decent size inside, not too big, not too small. When you walk into the restaurant, there are multiple rounded tables (perfect for group settings), and a range of tables that were either in booths or in the aisles. Needless to say, the restaurant utilized its placement of tables lol. You pay for the bill at the desk located near the back, where you can also see the kitchen staff and those who are preparing the meats. Needless to say, if you have a table located near the back…it’ll be quite busy and loud.

Service:

As for the service of this restaurant, they were all pretty quick and accommodated any questions we had about the menu, as well as properly greeting us and leading us to our reserved table. Some of the staff where able to speak multiple languages as well. For example, an older man who served us was able to not only speak in english, but also in both mandarin and Vietnamese as well. I find that a really awesome quality to have some servers be able to communicate in various languages with a variety of people. It was also a pretty packed place when we all went, so it was really nice that we also had that fast service too.

Food:

I never had Peking duck before, yet alone having it with crepes and other condiments with it. Some of the dishes we ordered were nicely placed on either hot plates, like the squid with rice cakes. I’m unsure of the exact naming of the food items, other than the Peking duck. I suggest you order the Peking duck ahead of time since it is apparently a popular dish. My friend ordered and reserved a table for us a couple days before the meet up, which gives you an idea for how much time you may have to reserve for. Other than that, the food was pretty good; especially since I’ve never had any of the dishes we ordered ahaha.

Food Shown: Peking duck with crepes and green onion/celery, duck meat stir fried, squid with rice cakes, and egg plant braised in sauce. (Again..sorry for not being able to mention the actual names of the food items, hopefully it was of some help ahaha)
